Paver Cleaning, Polymeric Sanding and Sealing in Macomb & Oakland County, MI

Full paver restoration is three steps that work as one job: deep clean the surface, sweep fresh polymeric sand into the joints, then seal. Polymeric sand hardens when activated with water, which locks the pavers together and shuts down the weeds and ant hills that come up through open joints. The sealer holds the color and slows future staining.

What's Included

  • Deep clean of the paver surface and joints
  • Removal of failed or washed out joint sand
  • Fresh polymeric sand swept and compacted into every joint
  • Sand activation so the joints harden
  • Sealer applied once the surface is fully dry

How We Do It

Clean the field and joints

The surface is cleaned and the old, degraded joint sand is cleared out. Sealing over dirty joints traps the problem underneath.

Let it dry

Pavers have to be dry through before sand and sealer go down. This is the step that gets skipped and it is the reason sealer jobs fail.

Sand and activate

Polymeric sand is swept into the joints, compacted so it settles, topped off, then activated with a controlled water application so it sets hard.

Seal

Sealer goes on in even coats once the sand has cured, locking in the color and giving the surface a barrier against staining.

Surfaces We Clean

  • Brick paver patios
  • Paver driveways
  • Paver walkways
  • Retaining and seat walls
  • Pool surrounds
  • Steps and landings

All surfaces are always applied with a post treatment method to keep the surfaces clean longer after your service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is polymeric sand and why does it matter?

Polymeric sand is joint sand with a binder mixed in. Once it is swept into the joints and activated with water it hardens, so it resists washing out and blocks weeds and ants from coming up through the gaps. Regular sand does none of that.

How long does paver sealing last?

It depends on the sealer, the traffic and the sun exposure on that specific surface. A driveway that gets full sun and vehicle traffic wears faster than a shaded walkway. We will tell you what to expect for your surface rather than quoting a blanket number.

Do pavers have to be cleaned before sealing?

Yes. Sealing over dirt, algae or old degraded sand locks the contamination under the sealer, where it stays visible and cannot be removed without stripping. Cleaning and full drying are not optional steps.

Will sealing make my pavers shiny?

That depends on the sealer. Finishes range from a natural matte look to a wet look with visible gloss. Tell us which one you want and we will match the product to it.
